Tank setup tips
-
Room to sprint. A four-foot tank gives them distance to school without bumping glass.
-
Soft edges. Use broad-leaf plants (Amazon swords, Crypts) and rounded driftwood to echo their Southeast Asian stream roots.
-
Steady flow. A canister filter rated one size up provides moderate current and high oxygen.
-
Subdued light. Floating Salvinia or water lettuce lets their orange stand out while lowering stress.
Compatible neighbors
Good fits | Why |
---|---|
Rainbowfish (Boesemani, Turquoise) | Match pace and size |
Roseline Sharks / Denison Barbs | Similar schooling behaviour |
Bronze or Emerald Corydoras | Work the bottom, ignore barbs |
Bristlenose Pleco | Armored, algae helper |
Avoid very small tetras or long-fin species that may be overwhelmed by the barbs’ speed.
Feeding routine
Morning: quality sinking pellet or granular food.
Evening: frozen or live brine shrimp, daphnia, or bloodworm.
Twice a week add spirulina wafers for plant matter. Offer what the group finishes in 90 seconds to keep water clear.
Our guarantee
Tank-raised, quarantined 14 days, shipped in insulated packs with pure oxygen. Live-arrival covered: send a clear photo within 2 hours if any fish arrive dead and we will refund or reship.
Quick order note: Clown Barbs stay calmer and show richer orange when kept in groups of at least five. Single fish may hide and lose color.
